Content should be informed by data. As a content strategist, I analyze the competition and online landscape, assess a client’s existing content and business goals, and recommend editorial plans that gain audience share and attention.


Content centers

I create content lineups, assign articles to freelance journalists and edit copy to ensure quality and medical accuracy. As a freelance consultant, I’ve devised content marketing hubs for prospective & current pharmaceutical clients on Healthline, Medical News Today, Greatist and Psych Central in partnership with the sales, project management, SEO, design, medical review and copyedit teams.


Custom content

I work with clients such as WW (Weight Watchers), Oscar Healthcare, Vitamin Shoppe, L’Oreal and Clarins to report and write one-off content marketing articles for their websites and apps, such as 50+ articles for a newly-launched health insurance FAQ section of Oscar Healthcare’s website.


Marketing proposals

As a consultant for Healthline and Medical News Today, I researched content and social media trends, pinpointed content opportunities, and collaborated with SEO brainstormed to devise budget-sensitive pitches for current and prospective pharmaceutical clients.

SEO

Content has to be seen to make an impact, and Google is the gatekeeper. In my role as a senior staff editor, I worked with the SEO and tech teams to systematically update, consolidate and assign What To Expect’s top-ranking pregnancy/parenting content. In less than two years, SEO traffic doubled.


App strategy

I understand use analytics and partner cross-functionally to create content and tools that resound with readers. As a senior staff editor, I helped oversee the relaunch of What To Expect’s app. In two years, it became the #1 pregnancy app in the iOS store, with visitors doubling and visits tripling. Projects included:

Week by Week of Pregnancy Updates: I spearheaded the audit and categorization of content for each trimester and wrote customized promotions for all 40 weeks of pregnancy.

Healing Mode for Pregnancy Loss: 1 in 5 women experiences pregnancy loss. With the product and design teams, we conceived and launched a special app feature to provide support and information.

Pregnancy Tests & Screenings: When you're pregnant, you see your practitioner. A lot. We took the mystery out of doc visits by launching this app feature, offering timely info and notifications.


Social & video

From working with influencers to assigning personal essays and more, I constantly envision and create new content that delights users. This article on ab exercises during pregnancy featured in-line Instagram how-to videos by a certified personal trainer and pregnant fitness influencer.


Press releases & marketing copy

I collaborate with companies’ in-house marketing and PR teams to write copy for websites and press releases, such as this 2017 press release on labor interventions for the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
